Brand New Website Launched

Fans, General

Margate Cricket Club is proud to announce the launch of its new website to the general public and club members.

The website has been built using an ultra-modern responsive template.  In a nutshell, this means it mobile and tablet friendly, and the design and layout will automatically adjust to best fit whichever device you use to view it.

Facilities for Club Officers to manage the website are in place due to WordPress functionality (Content Management System).  They are able to log-in and manage page content, member subscriptions, player details, team members, matches and fixtures, and to add details of any club related news and special events.

Live news feeds are available on the homepage direct from BBC Sport, talkSPORT and ESPN.  These automatically display the latest cricket news and are automatically updated by those news service via an RSS feed.  The website also has an interactive Google Map which enables people to get directions to its location.  A feature that will come in useful for competing team members who may not have visited the club before.

In addition, there are also a number of useful features for club members; it is now possible to apply for membership, pay your annual subscription and pay for any match fees online.  The payment side of things is taken care of by PayPal’s secure payment systems, which enables club members to pay via credit or debit card, or via their own PayPal accounts, passing the funds directly to the Club.

Club Chairman, Chris Carter, said “Myself and the Club Management Team are very happy with the new website as it brings the Cricket Club’s facilities up-to-date and in line with some of the larger clubs with higher budgets. Margate Cricket Club is run entirely on a volunteer basis, as well as receiving help from Community Pack Back”.

Please note that all information in relation to the 2018 season will be added to the website as soon as it becomes available.

The website has been built for Margate Cricket Club by Ashford Web Services on a voluntary basis and the Company will also maintain it for the Club moving forward.
